Bantam Russian Orloff

Of all the chickens we raise, our bantam Orloff’s are the most rare.  As a breed the Russian Orloff is quite rare in the U.S., however the bantam variety is even more so.  We feel very fortunate to have a flock of these lovely birds.  Our hen received best in breed and our rooster best reserve at both the 2010 and 2011 Ohio National show.

The variety we focus on is spangled, which is a mixture of a rich mahogany color with flecking of black and white.

Our Orloff’s are very friendly and extremely cold hardy, in fact we find the best laying is often as the cold, Northeast Ohio snow is blowing!  The fertility on the eggs is outstanding, well over 90%, we often have 100% hatches.   We hatch frequently and strive to maintain the highest quality stock.
